MET-Rx World's Strongest Man Qualification Process
TWI and WCE are pleased to outline below further information about the qualification & selection process for The MET-Rx World's Strongest Man 2005. They are also pleased to announce that Dr. Terry Todd will become the Head Referee for all World's Strongest Man Super Series events as well as The MET-Rx World's Strongest Man 2005.
Out of the as yet undecided number of athletes who will compete in The MET-Rx World's Strongest Man, 10 will qualify through their results in the World's Strongest Man Super Series, which starts with the Arnold's Strongest Man in March 2005. Four Wildcards will also be chosen from athletes who must have competed in at least two of the four World's Strongest Man Super Series events and a further four will be sponsor-selected exemptions. Any athlete competing in any WSM Super Series event is committed to compete in the MET-Rx World's Strongest Man if qualified.
All four of the World's Strongest Man Super Series events and The MET-Rx World's Strongest Man will be broadcast on ESPN and the shows will also receive exposure on other TV channels around the world.
It has been confirmed that the total prize pot for the World's Strongest Man Super Series and The MET-Rx World's Strongest Man will be no less than US$330,000.
